Now can you guess the year and model of each car in that commercial? I’ll take a guess:
1. 1952-1953, 500 S4 (first Ferrari championship winner)
2. 1966, 312 V12
3. 1970-1971, 312B V12
4. 1997, F310B V10
5. 2003, F2003GA V10
6. 2006, F248 V8
Thoughts?

Can’t see anything

The Commercial says that Ferrari worked with Shell over 60 years. I think this isn’t right. Wasn’t Agip the former Ferrari Fuel Suplier?

if only it were not factually inaccurate and misleading…it would be really cool.
But any Ferrari I picture is emblazoned with “Agip”

Wasn’t AGIP Ferrari’s OIL supplier?
By Craig Murray on Apr 4, 2007
The ad actually says
“Over 60 years ago we began to work with Ferrari.
What we have learned from out shared passion on the track we’ve put on the road.”
The never state that it has been a continuous relationship. You will notice that they don’t show any cars from the mid seventies through to the late 90’s, this would be when they were sponsored by AGIP.

I’m no Ferrari fan, and they clearly got the idea from Honda’s advert last year, but that is a fantastic video.

1. Yes, it is a great ad., but rather spoilt by the use of non-contemporary helmets.
2. Comments regarding Agip are spot on and, while Craig Murray is strictly correct, the inference we are meant to draw is a continuous relationship. This rather takes away some of the impact, but one should never let a good story get in the way of the truth (or ad!).

yeah it is a bit of a honda ripp off. just to let you know that the bridge sequence was shot south of sydney, australia. They wanted to use the harbour bridge in sydney, but were not willing to pay for it and also had the guile to say to the sydney council that they should be paying ferrari for the prestige. needless to say the councilers in sydney told the makers of the commercial where to shove there commercial.
