Is there a silver lining to the spy scandal?
September 16th, 2007 | by Farzad |Think of it this way, if McLaren had not cheated then the driver’s championship wouldn’t be so close and Ferrari would be running away with it. Maybe McLaren did the fans a favour by cheating.

Ha ha… agree with you.. .Mclaren is in the business of doing social service :). But aint it cool to be Ferrari? Even if they get their ass kicked in the driver’s championship, they can always say “they beat us with our own car”.

Funny new view of the matter

We really have to thank McLaren guys for this exiting Formula 1 season

aaahhh didn’t mclaren get the info during the coarse of the season?
they were fast at the beginning of the season, do you honestly think it is this info that made them competative? I don’t. I think they had a competative package to start with, i won’t argue that it did not keep them moving forward in design, but to say that the championship is close because of the spying is ludicrous.
The championship is close because Ferrari have been unreliable this season.

Get it into your head, McLaren didn’t cheat. What use is a dossier of Ferrari data in the hands of one employee who was intending to take the information to a different team, when the car has already been built and developed? Added to which, as soon as Ron Dennis got wind of it, he went straight to the FIA. The McLaren is quite different to the Ferrari in its fundamentals. However, Ferrari DID cheat, running banned parts in the form of moveable aerodynamics at the beginning of the season. “Ferrari would be running away with it”?.. Er, yeah, right… Without all this hassle to divert their attention, McLaren would probably be further ahead in the championship at this point. Theirs is the better car, the better driver combination, and, since we’re on the subject, by far the most open and honest team management on the grid. I sincerely hope that Ron refuses to release Fernando from his contract but benches him for the next two years, though, unfortunately for me, I fear Ron is far too decent a bloke to do that.

Watch Japan today - Ferrari yet again cheating.
They tried to get away with using unauthorised tyres to start the race (don’t tell they didn’t know - everyone else did) and then the brought Massa in toward the end unnecessarrily to get Rikkonien up to 3rd but avoid a “team orders” problem. Ferrari are as cunning as the next guy - if not more - at cheating.

I Think F1 has far too many regulations, we should let cars race with a predefined budget per car say and then they could do whatever they want to them, would be more fun!

hay shakeel sounds like you should be watching champs or A1.

Hamilton can do what he wants blocking Kimi on his hot lap twice, stewarts are watching Rugby, all English F1 maffia money talks bullshit walks in F1, Eccl.man you are killing F1 just for the money, all those British officials stuck up noses in the thea, get a on with fair F1, Go Kimi!

Complete scam.
Either it was a deal between Bernie and Ferrari to let them win or between Ron and Alonso. Hamilton’s gearbox problem and 3 stop strategy were created by the team and why didn’t Alonso fight? Hollow victory Ferrari.

LOL! LMAO! ROFLMAO!
I just can’t believe what I read from some Hamilton fanboys… The truth is that he couldn’t win the champioship even with all the help and cheats from Ron and the maFIA: Hungary, Monaco, Fuji and the list goes on. What a shame! They just wanted him to win and they did everything they could, including sanctioning Alonso even with no reasons at all…
But I’m really happy: finally Ferrari and Kimi won (way to go! Forza Italia!), and I just can’t stop laughing at all those losers (Ron, Hamilton, Hamilton’s daddy…). I’m sad for Fernando though, I don’t like him as a driver and I don’t like him as a person, BUT he just deserved more respect and support from his own team. I had some simpathy for McClaren, but that was before all this Hamilton thing.
Oh, congratulations to Ecclestone: he is doing a lot of money with all this.

Niki Lauda has recently declared in an interview about Alonso for the Brisith channel, ITV, the following: “This is not normal education. Maybe in Spain they don’t educate themselves in these villages where he comes from, but all these things I do not understand.”
I do not care what he can say or not say about Alonso. What he cannot do is generalize regarding a country like he did, and in a commment more appropiate of the nazi past of his homeland country, he just insulted the whole population of Spain. Alonso comes from Oviedo, a medium-sized city. In terms of population is about the size of Southampton (close to 250,000, a little more than a village, I should add). What I do not understand, Mr. Lauda, is why someone that criticized the “Education” of a whole country, uses in the interview two times the word F**k and once the word Sh*t. I do not understand either how biased your comments against Alonso are. I am not asking you to support him. I am asking you to be objective, and treat the situation like it deserves.
Maybe you are sour because you cannot understand why someone like Alonso complains so much about Daddy Dennis being so pro-Hamilton. Maybe is because Daddy Dennis treated you the same way he did with Hamilton. The year you won at McLaren it was clear you were the new toy for Dennis, and like he did for Hamilton, he went all the way to make sure Alain Prost did not get away with it. You won by half a point. Alonso had the same points than Hamilton. It is a copycat.
Now I understand, why your nickname is “the rat.” I thought it was because of your teeth, but you proved me wrong.
This is the source of the interview:

Enrique, I am posting the comment a little late in the game, however, you do need a little “nuding”. Nikki Lauda’s opinion doesn’t really matter. He is over and done with. His expiration date came and went. You should not bother with what he thinks about the Spaniards. His country of origin is populated with biggots and racists, therefore, his opinions are slanted and tainted by his upbringing.
Having said that and being Brazilian by birth, I must admit that Latins in general are a pain in the rear end to deal with. Senna at McLaren was not all wine and roses. Alain Prost was another issue by himsel. Montoya and his entourage was more than Dennis could bear. Let’s face it: - Latins at any degree os success are just a pain in the rear end to take for any lenght of time.
Alonso acted as a spoiled brat that was beaten fair and square by someone better than him on the same equipment. He was baffled by the rookie. He could not believe what was happening to him. What really brought him down in my eyes and in the eyes of many was his attemp to backmail Dennis with the evidence he was said to have in his posession. In my view this is not only a criminal act, but also demonstrated the lack of respect to others and a complete lack of honesty. He is a spoiled brat that, when all is said and done, should have been fired by McLaren on the spot and replaced by either Paffett or De La Rosa.
He should have been dropped as a sack of manure at the very moment he attempted blackmail. The world should have been made aware of why he was being dropped. This is what you do to crooks of his nature.
